On November 17, 2019 IntelMed marked a new medical breakthrough in heart surgery, which was the first operation of its kind in the Middle East and in Lebanon that was successfully carried out in Khoury General Hospital – Zahle by installing the Jarvik 2000 left ventricular assist device without stopping the heart on patient M. Y. (63 years old). The operation was performed by a team of doctors, including Dr. Najib Assi, Dr. Tanios Makhoul, Dr. Massimo Massetti and distinguished nursing staff.
